Aligning engine to gearbox!

Having difficulties aligning the engine to the bellhousing on the gearbox. I think I may have broken the release bearing, or the cylinder on the clutch, which I'm putting down to 'learn by your mistakes', so not too worried if it is broken. I moved the engine (with the clutch on) into the bell housi...

Odd Ignition coil

Anyone walked into a parts shop and requested a coil for a Starion, and presented with one of these? I even got told that someone had obviously put the wrong one in my car??? What are they?

I picked the engine up today. It was a disaster, but to cut the story short, I had no van to transport it, nor an engine crane to remove it from my poor Astra, which had it's rear tyre shreedded on the arches!! I abandoned the idea and decided to use my own intiative, a chain and loads of wood. And ...

I had to push the car into the drive and do a few back forths to get it aligned. Without power steering, this car is a nightmare.
Having no PS does give better communication, esp understeer, but found it much better to drive with PS.

We're talking about a fairly big splatter on the floor behind the exhaust.

Oh, the game is called Live For Speed, the main car is based on a Starion.
It's free to download and is an awesome game (online). Drifting is incredible.

Yeah, gearbox is under the car pointing towards the back. If you took both out, you'd have to angle it so both could come out at the same time = a pain in the arse! With FWD engines, the engine is facing the other way round and the gearbox is facing sideways ... sometimes it's more hassle to leave t...

So far I haven't had to get under the car, which is nice, but I suppose it's a matter of a few bolts. Thanklfully, it had a dodgy replacement last year, so all the bolts are fresh. :) I will give the bay a respray and clean up everything in there, all mounts with hammerite, etc. Here's how it was la...
