Sand before coats if you have exceeded the flash time (which is probably around 4-5 minutes). You can put multiple coats on within this time, just wait for the solvents to flash off first (ie. it stops looking wet). And clean EVERYTHING with prep-wash before painting. When sanding after painting, wa...

An easy way to stop water from getting to the gun is to hang part of the hose nearest the compressor over something high - preferably 2 metres or more. Water will condense out pretty quickly and will run back towards the compressor's water trap. I have a water trap on the end of the gun as well - i'...

hcca - the spigot is the one that fits inside the flywheel? yeah i didnt forget it.
Yep.. just mentioned it because it's easy to forget (or not know about) since the auto setup doesn't have one. I would imagine your clutch and/or gearbox input shaft would disintegrate pretty quickly without it.

Take the auto to scrap metal. Thats where all my unwanted starion bits go. You can get a decent amount of piss-money Probably should have done that with my housemate's 4cyl Torana engine rather than er.. fitting it into the wheelie bin :P (it was funny watching the garbage truck trying to pick it u...

While I don't condone this I do. Maybe one day we will get sensible governments that work out that these things do nothing to help the road toll. Maybe i'm just still pissed about the $250/4 point speed camera notice I just got.. all those lives I was endangering by doing 126 in a 100 zone on a cle...

what about all the wicked old toyotas/mazdas/datsuns and MITSUBISHIS!
It's AutoSALON - think hairdressing and over-riced cars. I think it's good that they limit it to the later model imports with oversized chrome wheels so that the real cars don't have to be seen in the same place :)

Haltech can send you a base map if you e-mail them. They also sent me wiring config for the isc and crank/cam triggers for the 2jz - I suspect they have similar stuff for the 1jz.

Unless you -need- to do a rewire (eg. for programmable ecu or something), by far the easiest way would be to find a wreck with an unmolested loom and do a straight transplant. The engine and body looms are separate so it's not too difficult to get the engine loom in and out.

Without testing every particular vehicle in a wind tunnel to determine placement etc, it would be pure luck as to whether they would do anything at all.
