Cheers Mal, I have accepted Redzone's offer. To get the car on the road at the moment would be amazing! :D Doesn't sound like I'd benefit much from a LSD at this point anyway... Thanks heaps for the info :beer

Turns out I haven't any stands to raise the rear end and I live on a hill, so not too keen to balance the car on jacks obviously... Wondering if you reckon it'd cost less than $300 to fix this issue if done by a mechanic? Presuming it's something damaged. Just asking coz that's the extent of my avai...

ah right, will need to check again. Anyhow, I think I'll book the car in to get the diff done... Perhaps I should buy a good diff so the mechanic can swap it over if needed, no doubt they'll charge a fortune if I don't

Thanks for that... Well I raised both sides independently, and whenever rotating the wheels as if the car were travelling in a forward direction, there's a clunk clunk clunk clunk sound, with a bit of resistance that pushes through each clunk, like I can feel the cogs inside the diff... When rotated...

Sorry for my ignorance, does the diff oil need to be emptied before being topped up? And is there a special type of oil for the diff? Haven't worked on a diff before

Is my diff stuffed?

I removed a one-way valve that was on the vacuum advance hose and now the car boosts nicely... Went for a semi-casual drive out of town for 5km, didn't punish the diff or anything, just a gradual acceleration... only trouble is when I came back into town I noticed a loud whirring noise when decelera...

Interesting... the last message I sent the last bloke I bought the dizzy from was "Dizzy arrived today, fitted and is working well, just need to set the timing as the car's pinging on boost now"... from memory, adjusting timing did not eliminate the pinging. Just got contacted by 'Advance ...

awesome... I wonder if the one-way valve has killed the vac advances all this time? You wouldn't happen to have another vac advance/dizzy laying around would you? :D

I'll have to check that in the morning :) Yes running standard boost... Another question I have is if the Starion vac advance is also a boost retard? If so, would this mean there's no need for a 1-way valve in the vac advance vacuum line? A photo of a working setup would be great if anyone has somet...

Just wondering what the likeliness of a brand new Vac Advance blowing on my engine? Would I be wasting my money to go that route? Any help would be appreciated, thanks all

JA Starion keeps blowing Vac Advances

I replaced my Vacuum Advance a few months ago, haven't driven it in most of that time and just started driving the car this week and it seems to have blown it again... This would be the third or fourth time in as many years. Is there a reason why this would keep happening? Or anyone have a solution?...

Thanks for your quick reply JDSTAZ45, The cable seems to be jammed inside itself, which was holding the handbrake on for quite some time, currently the caliper is moving freely. I had a mechanic look at it, and he says a new cable would sort it out. I'm interested in purchasing both cables from you,...
