When the motor is at top dead centre, should the camshaft guide pin be at its upmost position??
If so, mine must be a tooth out as its behind.

piston pins
Is there any way a home mechanic can remove and install the pins that hold the piston onto the conrod or do you need a mechanical press?
If so, how?
Cheers.

Cracked 4th piston AGAIN!!!
Hey Guys, I think i've cracked the number 4 piston (prob around the 2nd & 3rd ring land) and I was wondering if there is anyway to change the piston without pulling the entire motor out eg. being able to take off the sump while its still in the car?? Also, this is the second time no. 4 has gone ...

tc06 vs gt25
My TC06 is in need of a rebuild as there is some play in the shaft and it seems to be a lot laggier than usual. It has been hiflowed with a T04 Vtrim comp wheel (48lb/min) and back cut exhaust wheel. My problem being do I repair this turbo or purchase a 400hp garrett GT25 turbo?? The Gt25 seems to h...

have tried everything from standard setup (hose from turbo to cannister - no bleed) to even disconnecting the actuator from the wastegate flap, leaving the flap open all the time. The wastegate simply cannot bypass enought exhaust gas. I didnt have this prob with the old engine, but as soon as the n...

boost creep
no matter what the boost is set at, as soon as the revs go past 5000rpm, the boost rises with the revs past 20psi. dont know what else to do other than replace turbo or go external wastegate.
Car was dynoed at 120kw at wheels at 8psi at max rpm of 5000rpm before boost creep sets in.

Ive been looking at importing a us hybrid turbo for some time now. Slowboy racing, Precision and other companies are selling these hybrid garrets that bolt onto Mitsu manifolds. Been looking at a 50 trim T04E with T3 exhaust to replace my hiflow TC06 with t04B V trim comp and backcut exhaust. My tc0...

Im with you guys - this bloke is a real twit! I was gunna by his 'so-called' 450hp AVO turbo; we made a deal and after a couple of weeks in which the turbo was off and then on and off his car, he then said he had sent it. I waited and waited, nothing. Called him for a consignment no. to track it dow...
