An unrelated side note: The new cars were such a disappointment to me.. the corolla has horrible ergonomics and left me really tired and with sore legs after the drive, and the holden cruze suffers from build quality issues, electrical design flaws, and a gutless turbo engine. I can't believe peopl...

Would be most welcome.
I have always wanted to fit an intermittent wiper control for the rear window using a unit I took from my Scorpion (RIP).

On the topic - water pump. I have the SOHC setup and it looks like I need to change a water pump as there are drops of coolant at the bottom of the timing cover. I have always had the timing belts replaced at a workshop. Both timing belts were replaced not long ago when the mechanic discovered that ...

Did grease them up. The bottom of the lower hinge at the front seemed to be the bit complaining the most. :)
Thanks for the replies.

Door hinge pins - I think

Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with groaning doors which has now got so bad, that I can barely close the drivers side door.

Do you need to replace the entire hinge or can you order pins?

Not many Jap cars as word did not get around. Few Nissans, Toyotas and 5 Mits. The guy with the orange 71 Galant coupe TC was there - very well presented car. One white 84 Sigma GSR which was more like a luxury pack in Australia. Japanese models had some performance upgrades. Then there was a black ...

RACV-AOMC Classic Showcase 2014 and Japanese Motoring Show

On tomorrow. Sun Mar 30 From weatherzone Mostly sunny Max 27 deg Rain amount less than 1mm Should see lots of interesting cars. First time for Japanese cars to participate in this particular event. Equivalent show for American cars is great (there is also a link for that). Who is interested? http://...

Thanks The colour looks a bit lighter than mine. I also prefer the look of the JA bonnet. It is like a war zone in car parks these days. Gusts of wind don't help either. Renegade shopping trolleys add to the carnage. Someone posted a listing of the original colours one time somewhere on the forum. W...

BEST COOLANT

Victorian Transport Association http://www.vta.com.au/Alliances/SupplierPartners/tabid/1082/language/en-US/Default.aspx They are targeting a market in high mileage transport applications and continuous running applications. Which leads me to believe that their product is "the real deal". I...

BEST COOLANT

Spotted this product listed as a Supplier partner for the VTA. http://www.evanscoolants.com.au/high_performance_coolant.html Just wondering if anyone has used this stuff. They claim that it can help reduce detonation - which is what caught my eye as detonation can be an issue on turbo cars. Pretty e...

Certainly brake fluid can be used and a favorite in the third world. Or if your stuck on the side of the road somewhere.
Brake fluid is corrosive and is generally nasty to use though.
Big help if you hit a rusty nut or bolt with a hammer a few times - helps the penetrating oil get into the threads.

Is that the original paint or have you had it resprayed.
Just wondering if that is VG paint code Milano Gold which is what I have on the JA.
Are JA bonnet's the #1 style choice these days?

IMO Best car shows to attend are the ones with lots of boring old people who arrive early, sit under a marquee all day and are the last to leave. I would fit in the old boring category myself, I should add. Events that attract lots of families and kids are also good. Classic sportscar events and hil...

Resale values

As Redzone and others have pointed out the Starion has recently featured on the Shannons website. I signed up on their website and would encourage others to do the same. This is raising awareness of the model in the year 2014. About bloody time, I hear you say. Now the profile has been raised, it is...
