One pulse is Oxy.....but this won't clear even after driving, you will need to hold the throttle open. Two pulses is ignition sensor......make sure the negative contact from the coil is clean for the ECU to pick it up. The diagnosis plug is on the drivers side engine bay on a cordia with a blank in it......there should be one behind the glovebox in the starion, It sounds to me like your coolant sensor has died and the ECU is not reading it, this will cause the idle to remain at above 1500rpm. Have you checked error codes?.......as per the cordia if the TBI is not set correctly you will have major troubles.

I have many rebuild kits in the shed.........the kit actually says:

Circled parts are included in most kits, Extra parts are included for other kits

I have pulled many Cordia/Starion TBI's apart only NOT to find where the ball bearing is used........I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd be checking your starter motor........after sitting for a while the armature and the field plates can become rusty causing a bad earth, this will draw large amounts of voltage and current making wiring very hot.

What do you guys think of the Malpassi turbo regulator? Fully adjustable and has basically 1:1 ratio for boost. Hummm.........I have 7 year old fuel in my cordia and it kicks over no probs....mind you this is only for idle (with no load) and it runs fine.
