Rodney's twincam thread

Post by rodney007 »

Yep the dohc side finally won me over...

Engine choice:
4G63 wideblock
Evo head
T3/T4 turbo
External gate
Evo intake manifold
Evo 7 Injectors
Evo loom and computer
Starion flywheel/clutch/gearbox

The wideblock is fully rebuilt from bottom up,
I have the 2 engines now, one EVO narrow engine complete, and one wide/dohc hybrid long block, using EVO engine as part donor, then selling whats left.

Possibly contact Wantsom, he did the last run of thermo adaptors but unsure if he has any left/did another run or not.
Turbo and manifold looks good :beer That wideblock long block u bought looks sweet too, and not a bad price really. You should recoup a bit selling off the evo longblock anyway.

Got to get rid of that engine mount hanging out the front...
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...

Ok, wideblock engine is in, flywheel clutch lined up and ready for gearbox,
Swaped over oil filter housing with new gasket, put on alternator,

Manifolds due in this week, thermo adapter being made up this week as well as water pump inlet hose.

My wife's parents are over so most of my time is entertaining them, would love to spend more time on it :-(

That's a big arse turbo!
What are the inlet and exhaust manifolds? What sort of finish is on the inlet?
Looks like a cleaned up cyclone...but maybe I'm wrong.

The exhuast mani is a fliped/extended low mount of a random brand, not a very good one but decent enough. I asked the fabricator to add some supports just incase.

The intake manifold is a evo 1 chop, and powder coated.

Hi JAS, I have a EVO 0 vr4 computer (think that's what it is)

As per your recommendation, I moved the engine forward in both places on the mount, nice idea.

Also finished off all the waterlines tonight as well so things are looking good.
